LOWE’S OPENS IN OLYMPIA
Sierra Construction Co. of Woodinville a few months ago completed
construction of a new Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse at
4230 Martin Way E. in Olympia. The 139,774-square foot building
was built concurrently with a grocery store, gas station and two
stand-alone retail buildings.
The store involved construction of a painted split-face CMU block
building with single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin roofing. The
front entry includes EIFS with “Lowe’s blue,” sheet
metal roofing and siding. A custom 1,500-square foot mural was
painted on the east elevation by Kangas Murals.
The store’s HVAC and lighting systems are controlled by
a building management system from Lowe’s North Carolina headquarters.
Project designer is Sconzo Hallstrom Architects. Major subcontractors
included Westland Electric, AFP Systems, Todd Robinson Painting,
Rainbow Federal Roofing, Western Steel Erectors, Summit Fence Co.,
and Brinkerhoff and Sons.
Sierra’s team included David Buckholtz,
Bryan Ploetz, Jamey Clark, and Steve Neisinger.
