New Project: Project Piper

Breaking ground spring of 2017, Project Piper will be a 857,000 square foot distribution center to occupy three previously vacant lots in the Troutdale Reynolds Industrial Park. The 74 acre site will also have 2,500 car parking spaces, 276 trailer parking spaces, and over 60 loading docks.

New Project: Des Moines Creek Business Park, Phase IV

Sierra Construction recently broke ground on Phase 4, located east of 24th on what was Furnery’s Nursery. When completed, the fourth phase will add an additional 512,121 square feet of industrial warehouse to the park with 36’ clear height, comprised of two buildings (Building A, 266,013 square feet and Building B, 224,678 square feet). This phase is due for completion in spring 2018.

More buildings for Des Moines Creek Business Park

Sierra Construction Co. recently finished phase three of Des Moines Creek Business Park and has started phase four for Panattoni Development Co.

Phase three – 502, 189 square feet of warehouses – was built on 30 acres west of 24th Avenue South and north of South 216th Street. It consists of a 150, 103-square-foot concrete tilt­-up building with a 30-foot clear height and a 352,086-square­ foot tilt-up building with. a 36-foot clear height.

Amazon to hire at least 1,000 at new Troutdale facility

TROUTDALE, Ore. — Online retail giant Amazon plans to hire at least 1,000 workers for its planned distribution center in Troutdale.

Project Completion: Emerald Downs 5th Floor Renovation

The Emerald Downs 5th floor renovation converted the entire 26,000 square foot level from a cafeteria and general seating area into a modern clubhouse bar, lounge and casino.

Project Completion: CarMax Lynnwood

Puget Sound’s first CarMax stores opened in March. Sierra Construction was the general contractor for CarMax Store No. 7250 in Lynnwood.

The 9 acre Lynnwood site was previously home to Detroit Autoworks and originally a Safeway, which was demolished in 2014. The site has been vacant parking lot since, well known due to the unique palm trees that lined 99. Site clearing began in July 2016 for the new dealership.

New Project: IPT Tacoma Logistics Center

Sitework began early this year on a 58 acre site in the Port of Tacoma, which was previously the site of the Simpson Lumbermill. Sitework included demolition of the remaining lumbermill structures, and the majority of the site was paved. The completed project will add over a million square feet of industrial warehouse space which is much needed in the area, with a historically low vacancy rate in the Port of Tacoma and surrounding areas. New Project: Georgetown Crossroads

Georgetown Crossroads is a 589,615 square foot, three-story fulfillment center. This unique facility will provide much needed industrial facilities in an area with little available real estate. Project Update: Prologis Park Tacoma

Work began on an 80 acre undeveloped site near Port of Tacoma in December. Known as Prologis Park Tacoma, the site is a planned 1.3+ million square feet of new industrial development. Sierra Construction is the general contractor for Building B, which will stand at 770,195 square feet with a 36’ clear height. The building boasts 174 dock doors with a triple-loaded dock configuration. The project is scheduled for turnover later this year.
