Spotlight: Dan Windon

Windon-Dan

Dan Windon became a part of the team as a Carpenter in 2004. Before starting at Sierra, Dan worked as a wood framer, concrete finisher and carpenter with experience on tilt-ups – so he fit right in here at Sierra! Through the years he has made his way through the ranks and is now a Project Superintendent. Dan’s portfolio here includes projects of every type, but his biggest accomplishments have been Sierra’s largest projects to date; Structural Superintendent at Amazon BFI4 and Project Superintendent at Amazon Troutdale.

What brought you to Sierra? My brother-in-law got hired in the summer of 1999. He told me about them and I wanted to work for a general contractor so I call Sierra and fortunately, I was hired.

Why construction? Because it pays the bills and my last name isn’t Kardashian.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be? Be the US President, make about 100 executive orders have a State of the Union address and give the entire Country and all the Politician’s my unadulterated opinions.

What are your three most overused words? “Basically” “you with me?” “what up?”

Tell us something that might surprise us about you. I'm the second youngest out of my Mother and Father’s 10 kids.

What does a typical day look like for you here at Sierra? Early start to the day, getting a couple laughs in, getting the daily tasks and goals going, scheduling, quality control, checking on progress and walking site, answering questions, meetings, quality control, checking on progress and walking site, answering questions, find time to eat something, getting a couple laughs in, quality control checking on progress and walking site, firming up the next day of work, get a couple laughs in, misc. paperwork and reports, lock up the site.
