New Hire: Jacob Bodnar

Bodnar

Please welcome Project Engineer, Jacob Bodnar!

A University of Washington graduate, Jacob pursued Civil Engineering. However, after internships he decided he wanted to focus more on the construction aspect of things. "As I went through school, I learned that I preferred to be onsite and working with physical materials rather than designing civil projects in some office building."

His past work experiences were very opposite ends of the spectrum. "I was a deck hand on a marine salvage and construction barge. Before that, I was part of the maintenance team at a golf course."

Ultimately, he chose Sierra. "I visited a jobsite and met some Sierra employees that were very welcoming, and I wanted to be apart of that family."

Top three life highlights:
1. Graduating college through COVID
2. Getting Jeff Gordon's autograph
3. Bike touring Amsterdam

Favorite fruit are apples because they are classic. Least favorite is a pomegranate because they take too much work to eat.

What do you do in your free time?
I enjoying golfing and playing soccer. I have some good golf buddies that meet regularly. I also am playing in a soccer league on Wednesday evenings

What is the best advice you've ever heard?
A solution will always present itself.

If you had to do something else for a career, what would you be doing?
I would want to attend culinary school and become a chef.
