K&N Meats

Project Description

Constructed as a build-to-suit for meats supplier K & N Meats, this 77,000 square foot project included multiple cold storage rooms, office space and processing areas.

The building’s refrigerated areas were encapsulated by “Zero-Loc” pre-manufactured controlled environment wall and ceiling envelopes. The freezer floor included a glycol tube floor heat system with 10 mil vapor barrier and 6” type II 20-psi floor insulation. Cold storage areas included a 22,000 square foot -10° freezer, 1,500 square foot -45° blast freezer, and a 9,000 square foot 35° cooler.

The refrigeration system included a two-state, pump re-circulated ammonia glycol system with a “Sinclair Controls” motor control center and remotely monitored ammonia detection system.

The finished project has 11,000 square feet of administrative offices, and an additional 34,500 square foot dry good storage area as well.
