Sierra Construction recently broke ground on Arbor Village Apartments at 23601 56th Ave. in Mountlake Terrace.
When finished in August 2013, the five-story building will have 9,800 square feet of ground floor retail topped with 123 apartments. Tenants will be able to use a party room and kitchen, fitness center, movie room and PGA-certified golf swing simulator.
The exterior of the 236,300-square-foot building will be clad with brick and metal storefronts on the main level, and cementitious lap siding on the upper levels. Other elements will be metal decks, a public courtyard, barbecue area and covered parking.
The owner is Arbor Village Apartments LLC. The design team is Carl J. Colson Architect, KPFF Consulting Engineers, Yu and Trochalakis PLLC, Robertson Engineering, and RDH Group.
Subcontractors are Thomco Construction (excavation and utilities), Fairweather Masonry, Wesweld Corp. (steel), Pacific Coast Structures (framing), Lanz Cabinets, Inland Waterproofing Services, McGregor Door and Hardware, Sam’s Drywall, CR Floors and Interiors, Kone Elevators, Anchor Plumbing, Washington Heating and Air Conditioning, Emerald Inc. (fire sprinklers), Fire Protection Inc. (fire alarms), and Independent Electrical Contractors.
Sierra’s project team includes project managers Joe Hanley and Kory Knudson, project engineer Brooks Strelinger, superintendent Kevan Muzzy and concrete superintendent Jerry Golbienko.
