The project team at Prologis’ Georgetown Crossroads took a moment to celebrate on Tuesday, as the structural steel erection on the main, three-story section of the fulfillment center had been completed.
Coastal Steel began the steel erection process in December of 2017, and was completed on March 6th. Approximately 5,000 tons of structural steel was used in the three-story building. The shell was tilted with 86 panels; the largest weighting 210,000lbs.
The project team is now in the process of completing 16, 20,000 square foot slab-on-metal-deck pours.
February included the final tilt-up of the project, which completed the shell of the single story portion of the structure. This section will later be capped with the second level’s truck court, with incoming and outgoing truck ramps wrapping either side of building.
Sierra Construction is the General Contractor; Sun Steel is the steel supplier and Profile Steel supplied the open-web joists and decks.
