New Hire: Derek Wittig

Derek Wittig joins us from Gresham, Oregon. An OSU graduate, Derek worked for another General Contractor before coming to Sierra. "Working with another GC on an Extra Space Storage job I was able to get a feel for how well Sierra performed in the owner’s and architect’s eyes. The high praise Sierra received was what interested me." If he wasn't in construction Derek says he would probably find his way into an automotive repair or performance shop.

What is your favorite pastime?
If I am not with family or friends, I usually wind up in the garage working on something. I started learning how to work on cars out of necessity as a broke college student and it evolved into hobby.

What is one thing you couldn't live without?
Music. There’s nothing like a little Metallica to wake you up on the drive to the job site!

What is your least favorite fruit?
Durian, I had a chance to try it playing fear factor on a camping trip.

What type of food can't you resist?
My favorite type of food is Mexican food, it has been my go to birthday meal for as long as I can remember.
