NAIOP named Vulcan Real Estate the region’s developer of the year Friday. It was the second year in a row Vulcan won the title.

The year’s top deal was done by HAL Real Estate Investments, which acquired the new and empty Seventh & Madison building on First Hill and leased it to Polyclinic. The two groups were honored with project partners Heartland and Urban Renaissance Group at the Night of the Stars gala in Bellevue.

• Vulcan, Tom Douglas Restaurants’ Terry Avenue Building, Seattle, redevelopment/renovation

• Kauri’s Alaska Building/Courtyard by Marriott, Seattle, hospitality

• Urban Visions’ Stadium Nissan, Seattle, best market adaptation

• Compass Housing Alliance & Shelter Resources’ Compass Veterans Center, Renton, community impact award

• Nuance Communications, Seattle, best tenant improvement

• Seattle University’s Lemieux Library renovation, private education development

• Swedish Issaquah Community Hospital and Medical Center, non-public technology/life sciences development

• City of Seattle and Pike Place Market renovation; and University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and Paccar Hall, top public projects.
