This single story suburban office building included concrete tilt-up construction with floor to ceiling windows for maximum daylight in the building. The building entry includes a large entry wood beam with five bands of reclaimed timber siding which represent the five core values of the company – collaboration, innovation, drive, focus and accountability. The edge cut on the wood beam pays homage to Nautilus’ relationship with their Asian manufacturers. The beam is supported by two columns with twelve bands. The 12 stacks in the stone beams represent the year 2012, and two volcanic rock stones in front represent the company’s two business channels; retail and direct. The main doors are cut from Douglas Fir, a local evergreen – recognizing Washington as the Evergreen State. The building interior utilizes different methods of ceiling construction; open to structure Acoustical Ceiling Tile and Gypsum Wallboard soffits to provide a visual separation of departments without walls to maximize natural lighting throughout. The executive area includes a vestibule/showroom with wood base and Italian tile throughout the lobby, restroom and showroom area. The building is complete with a corporate fitness center for employees, with access via a separate secure entrance. The back portion of the building includes a courtyard area for company social gatherings. This project was successfully completed August of 2012.
