Located in the heart of PacTrust’s Columbia Tech Center development in Vancouver Washington, recently completed Parkside Shops is a unique building that stands out amidst apartments and flex-tech office buildings.
The new structure totals 8,798 square feet of retail space, with 6,025 square feet leased to Oregon based Hopworks Urban Brewery. The exterior of the building is a mixture of board-formed concrete panels and corrugated steel siding, while the northern end of the building features a two story, floor-to-ceiling glass wall. A metal canopy with corrugated metal decking and hanger rods overhangs the western wall.
The interior features a mezzanine with views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St Helens through the floor to ceiling storefront system. The mezzanine is supported by glulam wood beams, and creates a warm space below with its tongue and groove wood deck. The tongue and groove Doug fir ceiling with exposed beams completes the look. Hopworks Urban Brewery completed their build-out, and the additional retail a space is yet to be leased.
“It was an exciting day, although not knowing how well the 1×6 Doug fir board form liner would transfer its grain and patterns to the tilt wall was a bit unnerving“The finish product looked amazing, and the owner and myself couldn’t have been happier as this is the first self-performed, board form tilt up panel that Sierra has completed.”
