Panattoni pays $23M for liquor warehouse

The Department of Enterprise Services sold the Washington State Liquor Control Board's old distribution center to Panattoni Development Co. for $23.4 million. Panattoni plans to remodel and add space to the building at 4401 E. Marginal Way S. Craft Architects will design the expansion, and Sierra Construction is the general contractor. Kidder Mathews marketed the property for sale. Buildings come down, interest goes up at former Boeing Space Center in Kent

PCI Democon is busy tearing down seven buildings on part of the former Boeing Space Center in Kent to make way for constructing Stryker Business Center at Pacific Gateway. Crews have demolished the 21,000-square-foot Building 18-20, where Boeing did sound testing and the 31,500-square-foot building 18-06 that housed a cafeteria. Now under the wrecking ball are 161,000- and 140,000-square-foot office buildings. Walgreens under construction in Edmonds

Sierra Construction last month started building a 14,400-square-foot Walgreens store with a drive-thru pharmacy at Edmonds Way and 100th Avenue West in Edmonds. When finished in December, the building will have a structural steel core, structural brick exterior walls and a stucco finish at the 23-foot-high storefront entry. Panattoni was already one of the most active industrial developers in the region, and now it plans to buy and expand the Washington State Liquor Control Board's old distribution center. Nautilus moves to Columbia Tech Center

Sierra Construction recently completed the new 51,800-square-foot headquarters for exercise equipment company Nautilus at 17750 S.E. Sixth Way in Vancouver. The building is within Columbia Tech Center, a 412-acre mixed-use development north of state Route 14 and east of Interstate 205. SunCap buys land in Redmond for FedEx distribution center

The north Carolina-based company is planning to build a ground distribution center for FedEx in Redmond. SunCap Property Group of Charlotte, N.C., acquired 24 acres of vacant land at 18795 N.E. 73rd St. for $16.87 million. Dennis Lisk, associate planner for the city of Redmond, said SunCap is planning a 212,000-square foot building for FedEx. Maple Valley retail center expanding

Kite Realty Group is redeveloping the Four Corner Square shopping center at Southeast Kent-Kangley Road and Maple Valley Black Diamond Road Southeast in Maple Valley. A Kite news release says the Indianapolis-based company is doing the work in two phases. Canadian-based Lululemon Athletica last month moved into 3,700 square feet of new space just three doors down from its old space at the University Village shopping center in Seattle. On Friday, September 21st, Sierra Construction participated in the 2012 Great Outdoor Team Odyssey Event at Camp Pigott in Snohomish to benefit the Boy Scouts of America.  The Sierra team consisting of Sarah Wentz, Josh Boettner, Sam McVey, and Matt Enany.  The group participated in numerous competitions throughout the day including but not limited to; clay pigeon shooting, rifle shooting, a canoe/row boat/mountain bike race, a high ropes course, a survival skills competition and rock climbing.  The big surprise of the [...]

Sierra Construction this week was expected to start work on a 47,000 square-foot tilt-up warehouse at 7010 150th St. S.W. in Lakewood for Olympic Moving and Storage. $46M Safeway center opens in Canyon Park

Safeway has opened a lifestyle shopping center in the Canyon Park area of Bothell. Property Development Centers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Safeway Inc., developed the project. Key Bank opens Kenmore branch

Kenmore's new KeyBank opened its doors Aug. 29 at 7830 N.E. Bothell Way.
