The Challenge: Design a state-of-the-art automotive educational training center using materials that are durable and visually related to the buildings function.
The Solution: Utilize metal construction products – meeting concerns about long-term maintenance – in a manner that suggests the types of activities taking place within each of the 85,000 square foot facility’s various segments.
The Products: CENTRIA manufactured the 30,000 sq. ft. of BR5-36 and 14,000 sq. ft. of Econolap ¾” panels used on the project. Both 36”-wide exposed-fastening panel systems were formed from 18-gauge steel and have PVDF paint finishes. The BR5-36 panels are Metallic Brick and Colonial Gray. The Econolap panels are Silver Gray, Silversmith and Colonial Gray.
CENTRIA also manufactured the 85,000 sq. ft. of SRS 2 structural standing seam metal roofing that tops the project. The 18”-wide panels were formed from 20-gauge Galvalume-coated steel with a Zincalume bare finish.
The 8,500 sq. ft. of R-span Centurywall smooth-face insulant wall panels were by Metecno/API. The 3” thick, Metallic Brick panels have 20-gauge steel skins.
The 2,500 sq. ft. of Castletop diamond-shaped metal shingles were manufactured by ATAS. Formed from .032” clear anodized aluminum, each individual shingle measures 15-3/4”X 15-3/4”.
