Project Update: Georgetown Crossroads

The project team at Prologis’ Georgetown Crossroads took a moment to celebrate on Tuesday, as the structural steel erection on the main, three-story section of the fulfillment center had been completed.

Coastal Steel began the steel erection process in December of 2017, and was completed on March 6th. Approximately 5,000 tons of structural steel was used in the three-story building. The shell was tilted with 86 panels; the largest weighting 210,000lbs.

New Project: West Woodland Business Center

Sierra has begun construction on a four story, mixed-use commercial building in Ballard, Washington. 

Avenue 55 is developing the new 71,460 square foot light industrial/flex space project. The space is divisible down to 4,000-8,5000 square feet. The project will feature a central freight elevator with clear heights of 20′ per floor, and also includes parking for 46 vehicles. 

This project is due for completion at the end of 2018.

Project Update: Interbay Self Storage

Over the next week at Interbay Self Storage in North Seattle, the project team will be completing the structural steel and decking, with deck pours on the remaining three stories scheduled to be completed by the end of February.

The Interbay Self Storage project is a four story self-storage building that is a tilt and structural steel hybrid. Due to its smaller footprint yet complex design it provides challenges to build. Project Completion: Big Eddy Commerce Center

Sitework began last year on this 135,387 square foot tilt-up commerce center on 7.5 acres in Gresham, Oregon.  ‘Big Eddy’ has a 30′ clear height, 30 dock doors and 5 grade level doors with a 6″ slab. Located within in the Airport Way submarket the project is a part of a 230-acre master-planned business park development. This project was completed at the end of 2017.

Project Update: Georgetown Crossroads completes tilt

Drivers traveling down E Marginal Way now have a different kind of view of Prologis’ Georgetown Crossroads construction site, as the team completed the tilt-up portion of construction this week.

The tilt included erecting 86 concrete panels, with the heaviest weighing in at 210,000lbs. The panels are 55′-6″ and reaches approximately 2/3 of the way between the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Project Update: Des Moines Creek B.P. IV

Sierra Construction recently tilted the first of two buildings at the Des Moines Creek Business Park IV.  Building A, which was the first building to tilt with 96 panels, will be 266,000 square feet and is located on the northend of the lot.

The 224,000 square foot Building B is schedule to tilt early in 2018. Both buildings have a 36′ clear height. The project is due for completion Spring 2018.

Record production for Sierra Construction

For Woodinville based general contractor Sierra Construction, 2017 has been an extremely busy year as the 31 year old company has responded to an increase in workload from a number of longtime customers.

During the month of October Sierra had over 8.2 million square feet of industrial, multi-family and self-storage projects under construction.

Veterans Day 2017

In honor of Veterans Day, we would like to feature two of our Veteran employees.


Alex Higdon is a Journeyman Carpenter here at Sierra. He was a part of the Marine Corp 9th Communications Battalion with 4 years of service. Alex completed two tours; Iraq from ’08-’09 and Afghanistan ’09-’10. 




Justin Fay-French is an Apprentice Carpenter here at Sierra. He completed 7 years of Naval service. Justin was assigned to an EA6B squadron out of Whidbey Island, and was deployed here on Read More >

Project Update: Project Piper

Project Piper’s first tilt phase was completed at the end of September. 66 panels, and included the smallest panel in the building, at only 54′ tall and 73,340lbs. (yes, only) 

Breaking ground spring of 2017, Project Piper will be a 857,000 square foot distribution center to occupy three previously vacant lots in the Troutdale Reynolds Industrial Park. The 74 acre site will also have 2,500 car parking spaces, 276 trailer parking spaces, and over 60 loading docks.
