Roger Collins

Roger Collins
Chief Executive Officer

Roger is the majority shareholder of Sierra Construction, and has been in the commercial construction business for over 35 years; 30 of them as Sierra’s founder and owner. Roger’s success as a leading local contractor is based on a commitment to teamwork, as well as mutual respect for local clients such as the Titus-Will Family of Automotive Dealerships, BF Goodrich Aerospace, Prologis Trust, West Coast Paper, Schnitzer West, Fred Meyer and more.

With his broad range of construction experience, Roger brings the knowledge and perspective necessary to contribute to the development and ongoing vitality of your project. Roger is a 1979 graduate of the University of Washington, with a degree in Construction Management. Before starting Sierra Construction, Roger served in the United States Air Force as a Fighter Pilot in Tactical Air Command. He is currently Executive Director of the Sigma Tau Educational Foundation, and the Commissioner for Woodinville Fire & Rescue.

Rick Basnaw
President

Rick brings more than 25 years of commercial and industrial project management experience to his position as President and shareholder of Sierra Construction. He oversees the management and integration of company-wide field activities. Armed with practical knowledge of the construction process, Rick provides strong support to the field. Rick’s contributions include value-engineering, client and contract administration, job cost control, pre-construction services, and daily supervision of project start-up and close-out concerns. Rick graduated with a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington.

Chris Kevil

General Superintendent and Safety Director

Initially hired as part of Sierra’s field crew in 1991, Chris Kevil subsequently became Sierra’s General Superintendent and Director of Safety in 1997. His responsibilities include the management of Sierra’s safety program, policy implementation, enforcement and monitoring of all jobs, as well as overseeing all project staffing, scheduling, quality control, subcontractor relations and dispute resolution. He facilitates and oversees regular corporate safety meetings which include both management and field personnel. Chris has developed a program to inform, educate, and document safety procedures, and strives to provide opportunities for individuals to participate in order to increase awareness and commitment to safety.

Human Resources & Administrative Services Director

A part of the company since 1992, Nancy has been involved in the development of the company through human resources, as well as implementing accounting and management systems. In addition to overseeing contract administration and accounting, she manages all aspects of employee relations which include acquisition, recruiting and hiring, as well as employee engagement and retention. Nancy enables staff to get the most out of their jobs through developing career growth opportunities, which creates an employee-oriented, high performance culture and a superior workforce. Nancy graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

Service Department Manager

Jarrod has been a successful employee with Sierra since 1999, and has managed our Service and Warranty Department since 2003. He is responsible for managing the warranty program for all Sierra’s new construction projects along with overseeing our Small Works department. In this role, he manages all construction projects which typically fall under $1,000,000. This work can include simple renovation and repair work, the addition of demising walls, painting and door repairs in existing facilities to more complex projects including interior structural and non-structural repair work, concrete slab repair, plumbing and systems changes to canopy additions and mezzanine additions.
